WAIT by Russell Kelfer

Desperately, helplessly, longingly, I cried;
Quietly, patiently, lovingly, God replied.
I pled and I wept for a clue to my fate . . .
And the Master so gently said, "Wait."

"Wait? you say wait?" my indignant reply.
"Lord, I need answers, I need to know why!
Is your hand shortened? Or have you not heard?
By faith I have asked, and I'm claiming your Word.

"My future and all to which I relate
Hangs in the balance, and you tell me to wait?
I'm needing a 'yes', a go-ahead sign,
Or even a 'no' to which I can resign.

"You promised, dear Lord, that if we believe,
We need but to ask, and we shall receive.
And Lord I've been asking, and this is my cry:
I'm weary of asking! I need a reply."

Then quietly, softly, I learned of my fate,
As my Master replied again, "Wait."
So I slumped in my chair, defeated and taut,
And grumbled to God, "So, I'm waiting for what?"

He seemed then to kneel, and His eyes met with mine . . .
and He tenderly said, "I could give you a sign.
I could shake the heavens and darken the sun.
I could raise the dead and cause mountains to run.

"I could give all you seek and pleased you would be.
You'd have what you want, but you wouldn't know Me.
You'd not know the depth of my love for each saint.
You'd not know the power that I give to the faint.

"You'd not learn to see through clouds of despair;
You'd not learn to trust just by knowing I'm there.
You'd not know the joy of resting in Me
When darkness and silence are all you can see.

"You'd never experience the fullness of love
When the peace of My spirit descends like a dove.
You would know that I give, and I save, for a start,
But you'd not know the depth of the beat of My heart.

"The glow of my comfort late into the night,
The faith that I give when you walk without sight.
The depth that's beyond getting just what you ask
From an infinite God who makes what you have last.

"You'd never know, should your pain quickly flee,
What it means that My grace is sufficient for thee.
Yes, your dearest dreams overnight would come true,
But, oh, the loss, if you missed what I'm doing in you.

"So, be silent, my child, and in time you will see
That the greatest of gifts is to truly know me.
And though oft My answers seem terribly late,
My most precious answer of all is still . . . Wait."

This is our God.

“哈拿禱告說、我的心因耶和華快樂.我的角因耶和華高舉.我的口向仇敵張開.我因耶和華的救恩歡欣。只有耶和華為聖、除他以外沒有可比的、也沒有磐石像我們的神。”
-1 Samuel

Then Hannah prayed and said: "My heart rejoices in the LORD; in the LORD my horn is lifted high. My mouth boasts over my enemies, for I delight in your deliverance. "There is no one holy like the LORD; there is no one besides you; there is no Rock like our God.
-1 Samuel

Live For Today.

Have you ever wished, when a day went wrong
a wish that's quite in vain
that it were only possible
to live that day again

You'd start out in the morning
with the prayers you should have said
and through the days your actions
with tolerance be led

The many little instances
that tried your patience, true
if only you could start again
you'd know now what to do

You'd kneel and say your evening prayers
and thank the lord above
for all the pleasant hours past
your heart at peace with love

But since this is a wish in vain
and never can be true
there's only one alternative
just one thing you can do

To live today in such a way
that when tomorrow comes
the memories of yesterday
will all be cherished ones.=)

Pebbles and Sand |

Pebbles and Sand
A philosophy professor stood before his class and had some items in front of him. When class began, wordlessly he picked up a large empty mayonnaise jar and proceeded to fill it with rocks right to the top, rocks about 2" diameter.

He then asked the students if the jar was full. They agreed that it was.

So the professor then picked up a box of pebbles and poured them into the jar. He shook the jar lightly. The pebbles, of course, rolled into the open areas between the rocks. The students laughed.

He asked his students again if the jar was full. They agreed that yes, it was.

The professor then picked up a box of sand and poured it into the jar. Of course, the sand filled up everything else.

"Now," said the professor, "I want you to recognize that this is your life. The rocks are the important things - your family, your partner, your health, your children - anything that is so important to you that if it were lost, you would be nearly destroyed.

The pebbles are the other things in life that matter, but on a smaller scale. The pebbles represent things like your job, your house, your car. The sand is everything else. The small stuff.

If you put the sand or the pebbles into the jar first, there is no room for the rocks. The same goes for your life. If you spend all your energy and time on the small stuff, material things, you will never have room for the
things that are truly most important.

Pay attention to the things that are critical in your life.
Play with your children.
Take your partner out dancing.
There will always be time to go to work, clean the house, give a dinner party and fix the disposal.
Take care of the rocks first - the things that really matter.

Set your priorities. The rest is just pebbles and sand.

Home.

The 3 answers.

One day, daddy was using a shaver in the washroom.
His youngest daughter saw that and went into the washroom.
She was very curious with what daddy was doing with the shaver, and asked,
“Daddy! Daddy! What is this? Can I have one?”
Daddy answered, “No, dear. I’m sorry. You can’t have it.”
Daughter left with disappointment.

Later, daddy’s second son came in and was amazed by what he was doing with the shaver as well.
The second son asked, “Daddy! Daddy! This is interesting. Can I have one?”
Daddy answered, “Yes, you can have one but not now. I will get one for you when it is time for you to have it.”
The son left and felt unhappy.

This time, the eldest son went into the washroom and saw daddy is using the shaver.
He was interested to have one too.
“Daddy! Can you buy me a shaver? I hope to have one too.”
This time, daddy answered, “Yes. Take this with you! You shall have it.”
The eldest son took the shaver and left the washroom happily.

There are times when we pray and ask God for something and God will only have 3 answers for us that are “YES”, “WAIT” or “NO”.
There is always a reason behind every answer that He gives to us.
And are we willing to trust Him and know that His plan is for our own good?

This is a story shared by Siyun via fb.
I love this very much, simple but might be a helpful reminder in certain opportune moments.
Thanks for sharing =)
